How’s your Web Status?
Have you spent and arm and a leg for a shiny new website, yet haven’t seen much business come from it? Do you even have a website? If someone searches for you, do they find your company or a list of your competitors? These are issues that can be costing you thousands of dollars a year in lost business.
This Software Costs HOW MUCH?Operating Systems are rather complete these days offering Word Processing, Spreadsheets, Media Players, Internet Browsers and dozens of other tools. Some times we need to fill the gaps in what we Can do and what we Need to do. This requires searching for some additional software. You search online and are often overwhelmed by the number of products that will be thrown at you. You dig your way through and find the product that may be right for you, only to find out it’s going to cost you. The worst thing is, this may be a piece of software that you’ll only need to use once or twice in your computers lifetime. This can get VERY frustrating. Before you bare down and buy this product, you should take a look at an alternative. It’s called Open Source.
Groupon
Here’s an interesting site I was directed to today. It’s called Groupon. It’s a rather advanced coupon site. It has some deep discounts which is great for consumers looking to check out new spots in there area while maintaining a budget, but from what I’ve seen it’s even better for business owners.
Identify Rogue Security SoftwareOne of the most irritating infections I have come across are known as “Rogue Security Software” infections. These are programs that are installed on your computer by various means, yet typically come in as a Trojan Horse from file sharing programs like LimeWire. These programs will act like legitimate anti-virus or other service software, claim your computer is infected and beg for you to pay for the full program. Some of these programs can be very convincing. They will disable your current anti-virus software and open holes for other viruses to enter your computer. In order to remove the infection, you will have to have someone who is trained in virus removal do an in-depth cleaning with removal programs, or format and reinstall your operating system. This can be very costly. If you notice a strange new program on your computer asking for you to purchase their software, google search the name of the product. If the results scream virus removal, turn off your computer and have it brought in to your service technician ASAP before the damage gets worse. Check out this link for more information on Rogue Security Software.
